This cooking school is a charity dedicated to the empowerment of disadvantaged women
Why should I choose this?
The charity provides a six-month training course for 30 women. The course also provides the living expenses during the training.
Over a 6-month course 30 inspiring women will be equipped with essential culinary
expertise. On completion of the training the charity endeavours to find the graduates jobs in restaurants, hotels, Riads or private homes that will allow them to be financially independent.
So, taking part in this cooking class gives support to the charity so that they can continue this work. And in the process you learn to cook a tagine!!!
Overview
- Pick up from your hotel/Riad in Marrakech at 8:50 to 9:00 a.m. If your accommodation/Riad is located within the medina, a suitable pickup point will be arranged with you
- Cooking class begins at 9:30 am and ends around 1:30/2:00 pm
- You can generally select to cook either chicken, beef or lamb tagine (vegetarian tagine would also be possible). Choices can be confirmed after booking.
- Once your tagine is ready you can enjoy your own homecooked lunch at the school
- You will also take part in a Moroccan Tea Ceremony.
- Return to Marrakech after lunch with drop off at or near your hotel/Riad

Before booking and before you go, please read the notes below
Cooking your
own tagine
- You will be participating in this activity alongside fellow adventurers.
- Transportation will be arranged for your convenience, with collection either from your hotel or Riad in central Marrakech, or from Jemma El Fna Square.
- If your Riad is not accessible for vehicle pick up, a meeting point will be set up a short walk away.
- Upon your return to Marrakech, you will be dropped off either near your hotel, Riad or at Jemma El Fna Square.
- You'll receive final pick up details via your WhatsApp the day before the trip.
- Please ensure you are on time for your transport as the cookery class begins at around 9:30 a.m.
- You will be joining other people on the day at the cookery school. The school can accommodate a maximum of c. 20 to 24 adults
- Please note that the Charity does not have the resources to accommodate a large number of children during the cooking class
- You will be under the supervision of professional cooks.
- Cancellation available up to 48 hours the day before the tour is to commence. So if you book for Thursday you can cancel anytime BEFORE 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday
