Ouarzazate and
Ait Ben Haddou
Ait Ben Haddou is a historic fortified village, know in Berber culture as an ighrem (built from stone and mud) on the road to the Sahara from Marrakech. This place has been the background to many movies, for example, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and many more. You will then travel to Ouarzazate city to visit Kasbah Taorirt, which is a great example of traditional Berber architecture and a UNESCO world heritage sight.
These are simple tours providing transport. You will be joining a Group Tour with others and this will give you an opportunity to see the sights and perhaps meet some new friends. You will be picked up at your hotel, or meet at Jemma El Fna square (depends on hotel location).
Overview
Full day tour
- Early start from Marrakech, leaving at 7:00 a.m. You will travel through beautiful lush green countryside of the High Atlas Mountains
- On the way you will see many Berber villages, such as Ait Ourir and Taddert. You will also travel through the Tiz-N’Tichka pass and it is the highest major mountain pass in North Africa (alt 2260 m)
- There will be a stop along the way
- The day trip will include visit to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah
- Next is visit Kasbah Taorirt, which is inside Ouarzazate city
- You will have some free time to walk around this gateway to the Sahara and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
- Travel back to Marrakech will be a picturesque route through the villages, arriving around 19.00

Simple tours providing transport
You will be participating in a Group Tour, presenting an excellent opportunity to explore various attractions while potentially forming new acquaintances.
- Transportation will be arranged for your convenience, with collection either from your hotel or Riad in central Marrakech, or from Jemma El Fna Square.
- If your Riad is not accessible for vehicle pick up, a meeting point will be set up a short walk away.
- You'll receive final pick up details via your WhatsApp the day before the trip.
- Upon your return to Marrakech, you will be dropped off either near your hotel, Riad or at Jemma El Fna Square.
- Please note that this service exclusively offers transportation, unless otherwise specified in the activity details. Meals, beverages, and additional expenses are not included in the package. .
